Pagani Design watches are not new to me. I purchased the PD-1649 automatic in September 2020 for its stunning looks (green and rose gold) and a great mechanism. It works beautifully to date. I just learnt that this watch is a hommage to Tag Heuer Autavia Isograph WBE5191.FC8276.
So when it was time to buy my brother a gift for his 60th birthday, PD-1736 ticked all the right boxes - the Seiko automatic movement, the sapphire crystal and Navy blue dial (with open-heart tourbillon) and bezel, and 43mm dial diameter. I had my fingers crossed about the strap, but was in for a great surprise when the watch arrived - it is of a very superior quality and is also very comfortable to wear besides perfectly complimenting the colour of the dial and bezel. This watch is a Panerai Submersible 42mm hommage.
That watches are hommages to big brands is not at all important to me. It is rather the design and quality of the timepieces we own. With these specifications I am sure the Paganis will live up to our expectations.
For the first time, my brother received many compliments when he wore this watch to his workplace. Many of his colleagues were particularly fascinated by it.
